Make Your Decorative Candles Burn With A Bigger Flame
Once you are into candle making hobby you start looking for more information about interesting processes of how to make candles, about different approaches of using scents and dyes, about various tips and tricks.
Today, I am going to share one of my useful tricks about candles. Had you any ideas that you can make decorative candles burn with a bigger flame? And the funniest thing is that all you need additionally is a small piece of paper (the thinner, the better). Of course, you might need a candle and in this occasion those big scented candles work best.
Steps you needed to take in order for candles to burn with a bigger flame is really simple. First thing you should do is - lit the candle and let it burn while you continue. Then (while the candle is burning), take a small piece of paper. Roll your paper into the small cylinder, so that candle wick could fit it. Tear the part of this paper tube so its length would be aproximately the same length as the candle's wick length.
Moving forward, you should mount your paper cylinder on the candle wick. Therefore blow out the flame of the candle and try to fit the paper tube on the candle wick. Gently apply pressure to paper, so the paper would go deeper into the melted wax. You will notice that paper absorbs melted wax (and the thinner paper is, the more wax it can absorb).
Lastly your artificial candle wick again. Initially paper will burn of and the candle flame will get smaller. However, when fire will reach the paper mixed with wax it will start burning with a bigger flame.
Knowing how to make you candles burn with bigger fire, might not help you with how to make candles. However, this new knowledge of candles might be really useful, when you need more light and electricity is gone. However, please note that candle will burn faster and if your main goal is to enjoy the dim candle light, you should not use this trick.
